CLUB STATEMENT: ON NEW MANAGER

Football Club would like to share its progress to date and the moving-forward plan until we appoint a new Manager.

Darren Sarll’s departure prompted the Club to immediately form a committee to search for a manager. Members of the Board of Directors and a consultant who has participated in numerous manager search committees in the National League South, National League, League Two, and League One over the previous thirty years make up the search committee.

On Monday, November 13th, in the evening, the Club started accepting CVs, and it has now completed the candidate screening process. Interviews have commenced, with several candidates having been interviewed prior to the release of this statement.

We recognise that this appointment may be the most important one the Board of Directors will make. Not only are we searching for the here and now, but also for the future. To simply announce that we have hired a manager, we won’t rush the hiring process. A significant appointment like this cannot be rushed.

Our Caretaker Manager, Ian Dyer, has consented to stay on until a new Manager is chosen. Since joining the team, Ian has consistently contributed to some of the club’s greatest moments, such as our first-ever play-off spot, promotion to the National League, FA Cup tie against Watford in the Third Round Proper, and the highest point total in 25 years. We have faith that he will keep putting in a lot of effort behind the scenes to enhance performances.

As we congratulate Scott Cuthbert on becoming the newest player/coach on our coaching staff, we would also like our supporters to join us. Along with our goalkeeping coach, Marlon Beresford, who joined the Club in 2022 and has had a huge impact, Scott is a valuable addition to the backroom staff and holds a UEFA A licence.

Scott brings a wealth of experience to the team and will continue to play an important role for the Club as a center-back.

We all know that the season and the results thus far have not been what any of us would have preferred, but there is still a long way to go in the season, and we have some huge games in the upcoming weeks. Together, let’s support the team and our amazing football club.

I appreciate your unwavering support. Nothing would be possible without you. Now let’s proceed. collectively.
