Woking Football Club is delighted to announce that Gareth Farrell has been co-opted to the Board of Directors.
Farrell is a local Woking supporter and Season Ticket Holder who works as a top business leader for 3M on three continents. He attends home and away games with his son and will give the Club with strong business relations, commercial, and networking abilities.
Farrell has worked with different teams at all levels, from the executive board to the shop floor, during the course of his 26-year career. He has worked with government agencies in healthcare, directed businesses for a multinational conglomerate, and performed a variety of commercial jobs with big partners such as Amazon and Kingfisher Group.
“I’ve been coming to Woking with my son for the last seven years and have a season ticket.” At the time,
“I’ve watched from afar the journey that the Club has been on, with new investment, potential for ground redevelopment, managerial changes, relegation, subsequent promotion, and a move to full-time status for the playing and coaching staff,” Farrell stated.
“I’ve seen changes in the Club’s role in the community, as well as significant developments in recent seasons to enhance the fan experience, such as the ever-popular Fan Zone.”
“Above all, I have always loved the ethos at the club and the hard work of the so many people connected to give their all in support of Woking Football Club. I am delighted to play an active role in helping the club move forward into the future,” Farrell added.
“Gareth will bring a unique supporter’s insight and individuality to the Board,” said Woking CEO John Katz. “As a fan of the Club and a recognised leader in his field, Gareth adds a different perspective and base of experience than each of the current Board members.
“He’s keen to get started, and we’re excited to welcome him to the Board,” added Katz.
Subject to FA approval, Farrell will remain a co-opted board member until the Club’s Annual General Meeting where he will stand for election by the shareholders.
