Paul Merson has given his prediction of the Premier League match between Wolverhampton Wanderers and Tottenham Hotspur at Molineux Stadium on Saturday.
The former Arsenal star and Sky Sports pundit has predicted which team will win the game.
So, what has Paul Merson said ahead of the match between Wolverhampton Wanderers and Tottenham Hotspur?
Let’s take a look.
What’s the story?
Well, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Tottenham Hotspur will lock horns with each other at Molineux Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
Wolves will head into the match on the back of a 2-1 defeat to Sheffield United away from home in the league.
Meanwhile, Tottenham went down 4-1 to Chelsea at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the London derby on Monday night.
Spurs have injury problems heading into the match against Wolves.
England international attacking midfielder James Maddison is out with a serious knee injury.
Brazilian forward Richarlison has undergone a minor groin surgery.
Tottenham defenders Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie are suspended, while Micky van der Ven is on the sidelines with a hamstring injury.
Former Arsenal star and Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson believes that due to such injury issues, Spurs will fail to win against Wolves.
Merson told SportsKeeda: “This one is a very interesting game.
“I’ll be shocked if Tottenham, with their injuries and suspensions, beat Wolves on Saturday.
“I was looking at Spurs’ situation and they have some bad injuries.
“Micky van de Ven is out and they’ve got Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie who are set to miss a couple of weeks due to suspension.
“James Maddison is going to be out too and Richarlison is set to undergo surgery.
“Ange Postecoglou will be fielding a makeshift backline and they are not going to be the same side that got off to a flying start to the season due to their injuries.
“Prediction: Wolverhampton 2-1 Tottenham Hotspur.”
My View: Tottenham Hotspur will win vs Wolverhampton Wanderers
In my opinion, Tottenham Hotspur will get the better of Wolverhampton Wanderers away from home at Molineux Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday.
Yes, Spurs have injury concerns, but the North London club are in better form than Wolves and also have a better team.
Tottenham play fearless football under head coach Ange Postecoglou, and I believe that the North London club will blow away Wolves and pick up all three points from the match.
