Wolves have announced the permanent departure of 25-year-old Bruno Jordao, four-and-a-half years after he arrived at Molineux from Lazio in 2019.
Similar to his colleague Pedro Neto, Jordao found it difficult to establish himself in the first team in England.
The midfielder and teammate Neto moved to the Midlands from Lazio, but their careers there went in different directions. The free agent only made five senior games for the Old Gold.
Speaking just after the pair arrived in England, former Sporting Director Kevin Thelwell expressed his happiness at having both of them.
“We are eager to add these two exceptionally talented individuals to their positions.”
Regretfully for Jordao, Neto was able to establish himself much more in the Premier League, therefore it was not shocking when he left permanently.
How Bruno Jordao spent his time at Wolves
The Portuguese midfielder’s career at Wolves got off to a great start. He scored his first goal for the team at the senior level against Reading in a Carabao Cup match in 2019.
The 25-year-old’s time at Molineux amounted to just 136 minutes of first-team football, making a single appearance in the Premier League by playing six minutes against Chelsea
Sending Jordao out on loan appeared to be the right move for the player and the team because the centre midfield player played for Swiss team Grasshopppers as well as Portuguese teams Famalicao and Santa Clara.
The former Braga starlet finished his senior playing career while on the Wolves roster by making 11 appearances for Santa Clara in the 2022–2023 campaign, although missing time due to a groyne injury.
What Bruno Jordao has said after leaving Wolves
Upon Jordao’s arrival as a 20-year-old, his longtime comrade Neto left a comment on his farewell Instagram post. All Wolves supporters will wish Jordao the best of luck in his future endeavours.
Jordao penned a thank you to Wolves after the news of his departure was confirmed.
“Four and a half years in the pack, what a dream come true…
Thank you for letting me be part of this family, for all the learnings and for all the support with my injuries.
I want to thank everyone that was involved in this passage on the past few years.
It has been a huge pleasure to be part of the pack!
All the best for the future!! I Will always be cheering from this side! Thank you all.”
Neto wished the 25-year-old well by saying “Good luck Jordi”, with Sasa Kalajdzic, Dan Bentley and Hugo Bueno also sending the former Wolf farewell messages.
We wish Bruno good luck in his future endeavours and thank him for his contribution to Wolves.
