Vote on ban of same owner loans amid links surrounding Wolves man

According to the PA news agency, Premier League clubs will vote on a temporary ban on loan signings between teams owned by the same person.

At the next Premier League shareholders meeting on November 21, if 14 of the 20 top-tier clubs approve the proposal, the ban will be implemented as a temporary measure during the January transfer window.

Given that Al Hilal and Newcastle are both primarily owned by the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF), it would be impossible for Newcastle to loan out reported target Ruben Neves from Saudi Pro League team Al Hilal.

Neves relocated from Molineux to Saudi Arabia during the summer, but since learning that Sandro Tonali will be suspended for breaking betting regulations, he has been connected to a loan move to Newcastle.

Newcastle is not the only team that uses a multi-club structure; Brighton, Chelsea, and Manchester City’s owners also own shares in other teams.

It is known that a review of the January temporary ban will take place prior to the search for a more permanent resolution.
