Wolves supporters have met Premier League manager Richard Masters as they step up their efforts to reverse large increases in season ticket prices.
In an effort to overturn Wolves’ decision to raise season ticket renewal costs beyond inflation, supporters have banded together.
A petition against the relocation has garnered the signatures of over 11,000 fans, and supporters of other clubs have also endorsed the cause.
Members of the Wolves 1877 Supporters’ Trust have now met with chief executive Masters and other top bosses, accompanied by the Football Supporters’ Association, to voice concerns regarding VAR and demand action on the price increases.
“Wolves are the latest in a string of Premier League clubs to announce significant rises to season ticket and matchday pricing this summer ahead of the 2024–25 season,” according to a statement from the Football Association of Scotland.
Regretfully, after universal price rises in the summer of 2023, this summer is looking to be yet another time of record price increases.
“Even with the division’s clubs experiencing unprecedented commercial and broadcast earnings, owners and executives continue to feel pressured to extract a little extra money from devoted matchgoers every now and then. An additional million won’t make much of a difference given football’s enormous budgetary issues.
“We’ve extended support to Wolves member groups, and members of the Wolves 1877 Trust will be part of a supporter delegation that is scheduled to meet with senior Premier League executives in London today.
“They’ll get the opportunity to personally address the leaders in football and convey the effects of these increases, while advocating for league-wide action on pricing.
“Football needs to listen now.”
