Wolves make approach to sign “lovely” new player*

All the big transfer stories at Wolves so far this month have concerned exits, with the likes of Fabio Silva (Rangers), Yerson Mosquera (Cincinnati), Goncalo Guedes (Benfica), Luke Cundle (Stoke) and Sasa Kalajdzic (Eintracht Frankfurt) making loan moves and Jonny ripping up by his contract by mutual consent ahead of an anticipated move to Greek side PAOK.

However, given the latest connections to Habib Diallo and Che Adams, there is still time for things to change before Thursday’s deadline. Jordan James, a midfielder for Birmingham City, is another player Gary O’Neil would want after Fabrizio Romano disclosed on Saturday that Wolves are expressing interest. It appears that they have already moved forward with their attempt to sign him.

The Daily Mail and reporter Simon Jones claim that Wolves have now contacted about pursuing James. The Molineux team has contacted their Midlands rivals to inquire about a possible transfer, but they will have to contend with Crystal Palace, a Premier League team.

Although Atalanta of Italy made an offer for the Welshman earlier in the transfer season, it was significantly less than Birmingham’s £10 million asking price. It is still to be seen if Wolves submit a bid as well, and if so, where the Blues would accept it.
