Lifelong supporter and former director of Worcester City FC passes away

A former club director and lifelong supporter of Worcester City has passed away at the age of 77.

Roger Pugh, known for his unwavering support to City, dedicated over three decades of his life working alongside his childhood friend Alan Wills, as volunteers at the club.

The pair led the Supporters’ Club in the 70s, and operated the City Sounds public address system at St George’s Lane for over 20 years.

They also spearheaded the Gala Days in the 80s and 90s.

In the early 90s, they were made life vice-presidents, before both joined the board of directors in 1995.

Pugh worked on the commercial side and handled the club’s accounts before stepping down in 2002.

A funeral service is set to be held on Thursday, June 13, at 10.45am at Astwood Crematorium.
