Worcester City players bid farewell as they announce retirement from football

Following last season’s title win and promotion, Jamie Insall, Kyonn Evans and Connor Gater have all chosen to retire from football.

The first retirement is that of Insall.

Having signed with City soon after the 2023–24 season began, he ends his career with his hometown team, having scored 23 goals.

Throughout his career, Insall has played for a number of clubs, including Hibernian, East Fife, Connah’s Quay, Halesowen, and Redditch. He has also participated in the qualifying rounds of the Champions League, Europa League, and UEFA Conference League.

Aged 32, Insall is looking forward to welcoming a new child alongside his partner, and is expected to make some appearances on the side lines cheering City on.

Additionally, Evans has announced his retirement from the team after three seasons.

Evans made 28 games despite suffering an injury early in the season, and he was crucial to the team’s postseason victory.Although the forward’s ability to score goals is his most well-known attribute, he has also made an impression on opposing center backs with his hold up play, flick ons, and hard effort throughout the front line.

Evans now wants to concentrate on Worcester Glazing, his business, rather than football.

The third and last person to leave the club is Gater, who likewise hangs up his boots.

Gater, who played for the City team that defeated Coventry, retires with his name in the annals of history.
