Man Utd legend Sir Alex Ferguson sends unexpected message to Wrexham boss

As the Wrexham manager reaches a significant milestone with Wrexham, Sir Alex Ferguson, a legend of Manchester United, issued a special tribute note to Phil Parkinson.
Parkinson just achieved the remarkable milestone of managing 1,000 games as a professional manager, garnering praise from football fans worldwide. Sir Alex made an appearance at Wrexham’s Racecourse Ground on Saturday, not in support of the Hollywood-owned team but to cheer for Peterborough United, managed by his son Darren Ferguson. The legendary manager’s presence also brought back memories, as he was once a regular spectator at Wrexham games when Darren played for the club from 1999 to 2007.

The actual game was intense, with Parkinson’s joyous event almost being ruined by Peterborough United, led by Darren Ferguson. Even though there was a goalless tie for the majority of the match, Wrexham won 1-0 thanks to a late header from Steven Fletcher in the 87th minute.
Ferguson taped a congrats message for Parkinson prior to Wrexham’s game.

“1,000 games is fantastic – what an achievement,” he stated. “Over the years, you’ve experienced a lot of amazing and thrilling adventures. I hope you have a successful managerial career; perhaps not today, but congratulations nonetheless.”

During his 197 games as Wrexham’s manager, Parkinson has led the team to 122 victories. Wrexham has moved up to third place in League One, tied with Wycombe in second place, under his direction. The team is still committed to getting promoted, and their next test is against Port Vale in the Football League Trophy third round on Tuesday.
