Wrexham battle late signing on League one Superstar…..

Despite having only joined Newport last summer, McLoughlin has already had a significant impact on Graham Coughlan’s team during the first half of the season and is now considered one of their most valuable assets.

He signed a two-year contract in July, so he has one more year left on his Rodney Parade deal. They are not obligated to take advantage of him this month unless they receive an irresistible offer for his signature.

Earlier in the winter, Football Insider revealed that Charlton Athletic was interested in him. But since then, The Valley has undergone a managerial shuffle, with Michael Appleton being fired most recently.

Although McLoughlin was born in America, he began his senior career at Ipswich Town in England.

He went on to make two appearances for the Tractor Boys first team before being granted permission to permanently depart Portman Road after serving loan stints in non-league at Bromley to gain experience, away from East Anglia.

Since then, McLoughlin has participated in third-tier league play with teams like AFC Wimbledon and Morecambe. Last year, he moved down a division to join Salford City.

After leaving the Ammies, he connected with Newport but was soon on the move once more, having connections to Wrexham, Rotherham, and Lincoln.
