The owners of Wrexham AFC, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, have stepped forward to support a local business owner whose merchandise was taken in a robbery for £7,000. Due to last week’s break-in before the merchandise was removed, Wrexham Trainer Revival on Lord Street has begun a fundraising with the goal of raising £3,500.
“Wrexham Trainer Revival’s shop was ransacked and looted,” the GoFundMe page stated. Please assist in reopening this tiny company. The proprietor is a kind man attempting to improve his neighbourhood.” Donations have been rolling in, totaling £8,250 thus far. However, the owners of the football team stepped up and donated £3,500, matching the goal amount, while also posting a love emoji in the comments, according to WalesOnline.
In addition to selling trainers, T-shirts and other goods, the store also restores, fixes and customises vintage sneakers. Although the owner, Stephen Tapp, told North Wales Live that he was heartbroken by the break-in, the community’s reaction has been “amazing”.

“To be honest with you, it’s absolutely devastating,” he stated. We estimate that the merchandise we lost was worth around £7,000, and I was prepared to give it all up. However, it’s really great how everyone has come together for us. I am really grateful to the Wrexham community. It’s also wonderful to see that a couple from America that I have only met once have started a fundraising. Ultimately, we want to strengthen the town centre and provide Wrexham residents with high-quality stores to visit, which has motivated me to continue.
