Wrexham AFC manager Phil Parkinson make a head start on recruitment plans

Wrexham clinched automatic promotion and avoided play-offs

“It gives us a head-start in terms of the recruitment and that is key,” he stated.

It’s time to take stock of the team as a whole and the areas in which we still need to grow.

“The core group of our players is excellent. We felt we needed to improve, and we will do so once more, having worked hard to assemble a squad that is embarking on a journey with us.
“Clearly, the squad needs to be strengthened. Everything gets better as you move up a division: quality, preparedness, athleticism, etc.

“There’s a lot of hard work to be done over the summer but we will sit down, take our time and make the right decisions to give us a chance to be competitive next season.”

Goalkeepers Mark Howard and Rob Lainton, defenders Callum McFadzean, Ben Tozer, Aaron Hayden, and Jordan Tunnicliffe, utility man James McClean, captain and midfielder Luke Young—the team’s longest-serving member—and striker Steven Fletcher are among the players whose contracts expire this summer.
