Wrexham goal machine Paul Mullin sent touching message by Wrexham legend

Paul Mullin recently netted his 100th Wrexham goal in the team’s win over Colchester United in League Two.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Colchester had taken the lead through a goal from John Akinde, but Mullin’s 100th goal for the team tied the score for the Red Dragons. Then, in the 85th minute, Max Cleworth scored the game-winning goal to secure a crucial three points for his team, who is vying for automatic promotion to League One the following season.

The Welsh striker took just three years and 136 appearances in all competitions to reach the milestone for Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney’s team.

WHAT HAS BEEN SAID

Following the Colchester match, the forward posted on X to express his joy to his supporters, writing, “100 up! I’m overjoyed to have scored 100 goals for Wrexham yesterday; what an incredible trip! I appreciate all of your help thus far.

In response to the post, Mickey Thomas, a legend from Wrexham, tweeted, “Can’t wait for the next 100 #goalmachine.”

THE BIGGER PICTURE

The 29-year-old striker, who assisted his team in winning promotion to the English Football League the previous season, has been in excellent form once more this year. This season, he has already netted 19 goals in League Two, with Wrexham being only four points behind league leaders Stockport.

WHAT NEXT FOR PAUL MULLIN?

The striker will be back in action for Phil Parkinson’s team on Tuesday when they play a crucial League Two match against Crawley Town.
