Wrexham star’s dad ‘in tears’ after son was let go

After disclosing that Ryan Reynolds, a Hollywood actor, had written him a note following his son’s departure from Wrexham earlier this year, former Man City custodian Andy Dibble showered Reynolds with admiration.

After giving the parent of a former Wrexham star a heartfelt note after his son was let go, Ryan Reynolds moved the man to tears.

Christian Dibble departed Wrexham in January by mutual consent, according to his father Andy, who also said that Reynolds contacted him on Twitter (now X) to express his pride in his son. Despite his notoriety, Dibble Sr. said that he was impressed by the Hollywood star’s attentiveness.

“When Christian left Wrexham, Ryan sent me a private message on Twitter,” the 58-year-old said. “It was fantastic, and it made me feel so proud. Ryan was really kind.

“He spoke highly of Christian as a custodian and thanked me for his contribution to Wrexham, but above all, he told me how pleased I should be of raising such a unique son. Really, that made me a little teary-eyed. It meant a lot to me, even though I did not anticipate someone of his renown messaging me. It was very unique.”

Christian played goalkeeping as a backup for the most of his six years at Wrexham. He made almost 60 appearances for the Welsh team, but he was little used after Reynolds and Rob McElhenney took over the team and hired a number of new goalkeepers, notably Ben Foster, an England and Premier League star.

Is Ryan Reynolds the most superior owner so far?

He joined Kidderminster Harriers after being freed in January, and he contributed to the team’s promotion to the National League. He has previously played for teams like Chelmsford City and Nuneaton Town.

In addition to being a player, his father Andy oversees goalkeeping for Accrington Stanley. Before retiring in 2005, he had enjoyable experiences with Cardiff, Manchester City, Rangers, Luton, and Wrexham. His career began in 1995. He represented Wales in three matches as well.
