A’substantial’ transfer bid has been made by Blackpool for Wycombe Wanderers star*

Latest wycombe wanderers  news as the Seasiders are linked with one of the leading defenders in League One

According to a source, Blackpool lost out on a “substantial” transfer offer for Wycombe Wanderers defender Joe Low.

The Seasiders have reportedly made a late move for the Wales under-21 international, according to Pete O’Rourke, a former Sky Sports reporter who is currently with Football Insider.

The 21-year-old arrived at Adams Park from Championship team Bristol City only in the summer. How lengthy his deal was when he signed on with Wycombe is unknown.

Prior to his arrival, Matt Bloomfield had been eyeing the center-back for some time, and he has made frequent appearances for him this season. This season, Low has made 28 appearances for the Chairboys and has three goals.

He has played for Wycombe, a team that has maintained six clean sheets so far this year. In May 2023, Low received a call-up to the Wales senior squad. Rob Page, the manager of Wales, impressed Low when they were both working at the age-grade level during a training camp at the end of the season.

After being referred to as a “presence,” Low made his men’s team debut in October versus Gibraltar. He returned to playing football for Wales’ under-21 squad, which is vying for a spot in EURO 2025.

He had a stint in the non-league prior to Eastleigh and made two appearances for Bristol City’s main team before joining Wycombe. Low played senior football for Walsall for the second half of the 2023–2024 season, totaling 54 appearances.

The defender, who was born in Filton, is a commanding presence at six feet four inches tall. He hails from a football-loving family; his father, midfielder Josh Low, was a player for Northampton Town, Bristol Rovers, Cardiff City, and Cheltenham Town.

There are several defenders besides Low who have been connected to a move to Bloomfield Road today. Dan Sassi is reportedly having a medical before potentially joining Burnley, a rival team in Lancashire, according to Football Insider. The 20-year-old, who has led the Clarets’ youth sides, might offer more depth at the back given Neil Critchley’s commitment to using a three-center-back formation.
