reason why the £200 big deal is still waiting approval*

The January transfer window has now closed for Wycombe Wanderers as they have signed Dutch defender Nigel Lonwijk on a season-long loan.

Along with recent additions Matt Butcher and Saxon Earley, the 21-year-old is a teammate of Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Chem Campbell, a fellow Blues loanee, and was a member of Plymouth’s League 1 title-winning squad the previous season.

Before joining Wolves in 2020, Nigel played youth football for PSV Eindhoven. He also spent time with Fortuna Sittard on loan back in Holland before to joining Argyle, where he appeared in 41 games across all competitions the previous season.

His loan at Grasshoppers in Switzerland was cut short earlier in the season due to an injury, but he has now rejoined the Wolves under-21 squad and passed his medical on Thursday night at Marlow Road in preparation for signing a loan agreement.

This window saw him join the club after Richard Kone, Gideon Kodua, Matt Butcher, Saxon Earley, Beryly Lubala, and Chem Campbell.
