Wycombe Wanderers star Gives hint on future with deal confusion.

After scoring his third goal of the season in Saturday’s 2-0 victory over Shrewsbury Town, Richard Kone expressed his happiness to be making the most of his opportunity with the Chairboys.

The 21-year-old, who spent a successful time with Athletic Newham, rose from the Essex Senior League to League 1, and in his 17 games with the Wanderers thus far, he has shown many signs of promise.

He expressed his happiness to WanderersTV. “I’ve had a great experience transitioning from a non-league to this league. Although it was a significant jump, I’m beginning to adjust.

“I knew League 1 would be difficult, but you feel like you can accomplish anything when you have self-confidence and know your abilities. Although I believe I’ve come a long way, I still have a lot of work ahead of me.

“It really helps to have guys like GMac, Luke, and Vokesy around. Every day, I pick up new skills from them and use all of their advice to improve my performance in the games.

After being given a starting position in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy Final, the striker made an impression at Wembley Stadium last weekend. He acknowledges that playing at the most renowned stadium in the world was a dream come true.

“I would have said it couldn’t be true if someone had told me I would be playing at Wembley, but everything happens for a reason.” For me, it was a significant occasion that I will never forget. It was an excellent experience.

Regarding the victory at Shrewsbury, Richard was happy not only with his own goal but also with his part in Luke Leahy’s first goal, winning the free-kick that resulted in the Wycombe number 10’s strike.

He remarked, “It’s been a really good day.” “I just tried to do my best when I came on, because the boys were fighting really hard. It was a good battle, and I won the free kick that led to the goal by just trying my hardest. Then I realised that GMac would pass to me, and all I had to do was tap in to score.

“It’s always great to have the fans there to support the team because you need that support to keep going forward.
