Tonight, there was a serious crash in Wythenshawe that prompted the emergency services to respond. It comes after a car collided with another vehicle during a police pursuit, according to reports.
On Wednesday, the incident occurred outside a parade of stores on Hollyhedge Road. At least two ambulances and several police cars were on the scene.
A witness described how one ambulance rapid response vehicle was seen to leave the scene.
Hollyhedge Road’s one carriageway was still closed. Images taken at the scene revealed that a collision resulted in serious damage to a Seat Leon and a Vauxhall Corsa.
Unverified reports from the scene stated that a police pursuit that resulted in the Corsa colliding with Leon sent at least one victim to the hospital.
Before noticing the two wrecked cars, one of which was on the pavement, a resident claimed to have heard a “loud bang.” A second witness informed the M.E.N. that a police car was pursuing one of the vehicles and that there was also a foot pursuit after the crash.
Working in a takeaway restaurant at the time, one eyewitness remarked, “I’m in the shop and I heard a loud, loud bang.” One vehicle slammed into the other, pushing it to one side of the road. The Seat was carrying a baby. It didn’t cry or move. The family was in a scary situation. But the infant and the family appeared to be doing well.”
According to a different account, police were chasing a car that was “flying” down Hollyhedge Road when it collided with a Seat that was about to make a turn.
