Man dies and two injured after two-vehicle crash in Yeovil

After suffering severe injuries in an accident on the A30, a man has passed away. Sadly, the man in his 20s who was transported to the hospital after the collision passed away from his injuries.

On Tuesday, February 20, reports of a collision close to Sherborne reached the police. Sunday at 4:08 p.m., a collision happened on the A30 at Babylon Hill, close to the intersection of Marl Lane.

A driver suffered critical injuries, and numerous emergency services were dispatched to the area. A blue Volvo articulated truck and a blue Mini Cooper were involved in the collision.

The Mini’s driver was flown to Bristol’s Southmead Hospital by air ambulance. Officers with specialised training have been notified and are providing help to his family.

“Our thoughts are with the loved ones of the young man who sadly died, and officers are doing all they can to support the family at this extremely difficult time,” stated Sergeant Geraint Butler of the severe collision investigation team.I would once more ask that anyone with dashcam evidence of the incident or witnesses come forward, as we owe them a thorough investigation to determine the exact facts of this collision.

“From our enquiries so far, we believe there were at least two vehicles in the vicinity whose occupants are likely to have witnessed what happened that we have so far not been able to trace. We would urge these people to please make contact with us.
