A30: Yeovil to Sherborne road closed due to serious crash
A ‘serious’ crash on the Dorset and Somerset border forced a busy road to close.
The A30 was closed from the Compton Road roundabout in Yeovil to the A352 Horsecastles Lane in Sherborne in both directions.
There were significant delays for traffic between Yeovil and Sherborne as a result of the event.
“At 4.08pm on Tuesday, February 20, we received a report of a serious road traffic collision on the A30 at Babylon Hill between Yeovil and Sherborne,” a spokeswoman for Dorset Police stated.
“Medical personnel and law enforcement are on the scene. Right now, the road is closed.
Additionally, a representative for Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue stated: “We got a call of a traffic collision near Babylon Hill at 4:01 p.m. yesterday afternoon.
“Sherborne and Yeovil crews responded to the collision involving an automobile and a heavy-duty vehicle.
Crews helped with scene work and casualty treatment.
