Serious safety concerns for missing Yeovil man who has vanished

There are ‘serious concerns’ for the welfare of a missing Somerset man who was last seen at the end of August. A search is under way and Avon and Somerset Police are appealing for help to trace Michael Wheeler, 37, of Yeovil, after fears for his welfare were raised on Monday, September 23.

The force said officers have been unable to find Michael to check on him and it seems he has not been home or in contact with anyone since Saturday, August 24. His car was recovered after being found abandoned in Yeovil.

It added Michael has not been in touch with family or friends and has missed several regular appointments, as well as failing to appear at a court hearing for a motoring offence. He is described as white, male, and about 6ft tall.

As part of the investigation, searches are being carried out at Ham Hill, Stoke sub Hamdon, and at addresses in Yeovil and Crewkerne. Anyone who has seen or heard from Michael since August 24, or has any information about his whereabouts has been asked to contact the police.

If you can help, call 101 and give the call handler the reference number 5224244891, or complete Avon and Somerset Police’s online appeals form. You can also contact the independent charity Crimestoppers 100 per cent anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via their Anonymous Online Form
