Woman dies in Yeovil horror crash

A woman in her 80s suffered serious injuries after a collision near Yeovilton and has sadly died in hospital

Sadly, an elderly woman lost her life in a crash close to Yeovilton. Following a collision between a red Kia Rio and a black Hyundai Coupe on Wednesday, July 24, emergency services were dispatched to the B3151 near the town.

When Avon and Somerset Police officers and the South Western Ambulance Service arrived on the scene shortly after 12 p.m., a lady in her 80s with significant injuries was brought to the hospital. Today, July 25, a police official confirmed she passed away in the hospital.
The other car’s driver, according to the police, was unharmed. While they continue to look into the collision, the officers are requesting that anyone who saw it get in touch.

In a statement, Avon and Somerset Police said: “A woman has died following a collision near Yeovilton earlier this week. Emergency services were called shortly after midday  after a collision between a red Kia Rio and a black Hyundai Coupe on the B3151.

“A woman in her 80s was brought to the hospital by paramedics after they arrived with significant injuries. She sadly passed away on Wednesday, July 24, in the hospital. A professionally qualified officer is providing support to her family, who have been informed.

“The second car’s driver was unharmed.
