The 75-year-old man lost his life when his vehicle struck two signposts.
Just before 15:15 GMT on Wednesday, there was a complaint of a crash involving a black Jeep on Hendford Hill in Yeovil. Police were rushed to the scene.
After receiving medical attention from paramedics at the scene near the Quicksilver roundabout, the guy was transferred to a hospital where he later passed away.
Anybody with knowledge regarding the collision is urged to come forward by the police.
