Leicester City’s Under-21s got back to winning ways on Friday night with a 3-1 away success at Fulham in Premier League 2.
City’s young players traveled to Motspur Park determined to snap their losing streak after six straight defeats in all competitions since the opening-day triumph over Derby County in August.
Amani Richards set up Wanya Marçal for a goal in the capital inside five minutes, and Silko Thomas added another goal four minutes later by calmly defeating Alex Borto in the opposing goal.
Ben Petty’s team got off to the perfect start, but the home team cut the score in half before halftime thanks to a spectacular free kick from Jonathan Esenga in the 24th minute. 
In the second half of this thrilling PL2 match, Chris Donnell and Richards both struck the woodwork for the Cottagers. The youthful Foxes prevailed in a game that could have gone either way.
Later, they increased the score to 3-1 when Kian Pennant scored after taking advantage of an errant backpass. Borto also blocked Richards’ penalty in extra time, but Leicester had already accomplished their goal.
The City youth team moved up to 16th place in the 26-team Premier League 2 rankings and will play Fulham at home on Friday (7pm BST kickoff) in the Premier League Cup.
