Thompson set to sign another player; said He is disappointed with 31-year-old since Wolves signed him

Andy Thompson has expressed his disappointment about Pablo Sarabia since he signed for Wolves.

The 31-year-old was handed a start against Ipswich Town on Tuesday night in the Cararbao Cup, and failed to make an impact.

Sarabia had shone against Blackpool in the previous round, having a hand in four of Wolves’ five goals against the Tangerines.

But Sarabia has generally struggled to have an impact on games for the Wolves.

He arrived amid a good deal of anticipation.

Many thought that paying £4.4 million to bring him away from Paris Saint-Germain was excellent business.

But since his arrival in January, Sarabia has only had a few solid performances, and Thompson thinks he ought to be giving more.

Andy Thompson disappointed with Pablo Sarabia

He was a frustrated spectator as Wolves lost 3-2 to Ipswich, and he was not particularly happy with Sarabia’s contributions.

He said (Wolves Weekly): “I was disappointed again with Sarabia. He struggled to get into the game. I was expecting big things from him when he came to the club. I know we’re not playing well and it’s not just him, but I thought he would offer a lot more to us.”

Sarabia’s poor form of late has seen him fall to the fringes at Molineux.

He has not started a Premier League game now since the 3-2 defeat to Crystal Palace before the international break.

That was one of only two starts he’s made in the Premier League so far.

Sarabia is falling short – he must step up

Sarabia has undoubtedly underwhelmed so far at Wolves.

Fans were rightly very excited when he signed and so far we haven’t seen his quality anywhere near enough.

It has been revealed recently that he is now the highest earner at Molineux.

He therefore needs to start stepping up for Wolves as an experienced player.
