“I’m Not Sure What State The Club Is In” – Bradford City Player On Next Season

Mark Hughes led The Bantams to the playoffs last term, only to be beaten by eventual promotion winners Carlisle United. Hughes, the former Manchester City boss, then lost his job just months into the new campaign to be replaced by Graham Alexander.

The Valley Parade team was seven points outside of the playoff spots and in 16th place when the former Preston North End mainstay took control. This season, the team can best be described as inconsistent since, while they have managed to string together a few brief wins, they have also dropped three straight games.

Many would consider Bradford, who are expected to finish the season in the middle of League Two, to be underachieving given the size of the team and the enormous amount of support they receive.

Winger Lee Sharpe is one player that played for the team while they were in the Premier Division. The three-time FA Cup winner left Leeds United to join the team in the summer of 1999.

The Real EFL granted special access to Sharpe, who played over 60 games for The Bantams, to discuss the minimal standards set for Graham Alexander and his group the following season.

“I’m not really sure what the club is doing behind the scenes, or how much money they’re going to offer him. I believe you need to use caution while establishing benchmarks and goals. I have no doubt that he will enter and work to elevate himself in the league and secure a postseason spot.
