Crystal Palace defender makes goalscoring admission after Man United winner

Crystal Palace defender Joachim Andersen admitted that he needs to find the back of the net more after scoring a stunning strike in their 1-0 win over Manchester United on Saturday afternoon.

The Danish defender opened the scoring – and bagged what turned out to be the winner – in the 25th minute when he met Eberechi Eze’s free-kick on the edge of the box and arrowed a first-time effort beyond Andre Onana.

Andersen, who also kept a clean sheet with 10 clearances at Old Trafford, also scored in Palace’s 1-1 draw with Brentford earlier in the season.Joachim Andersen reports hundreds of messages of abuse after Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez was sent off against Palace - EurosportThe 27-year-old has started every game under Roy Hodgson this season.

“It was unbelievable to win at Old Trafford,”  Andersen told PalaceTV.

“That goal is something I’ll remember.

“It’s something that I need to improve on.

“I need to score more goals because I’m capable of scoring goals.

“I have the desire to score – I have a pretty good strike actually. I hit it really well.”
