Huddersfield Town to take some by surprise in January.

Darren Moore has been short on options in several key roles over the past few weeks but has been bolstered by a number of returns to fitness – including midfield David Kasumu

David Kasumu and Jonathan Hogg have become a formidable midfield duo for the Terriers since the former’s return from a spell out due to a hamstring injury. This is according to Terriers manager Darren Moore.

After being injured in Neil Warnock’s final game as manager back in September, Kasumu only made his manager debut on Saturday afternoon. He and captain Hogg put on an incredible display for the entire 90 minutes at the Stadium of Light.

“They both have that wonderful understanding, and they’re different types of players but they complement each other very, very well,” Moore remarked of his midfield tandem.

“David, or Kas as we call him, has done a really great job since his return, and I applaud him for that. Hoggy has essentially served as the team’s glue, keeping everyone on the same page and maintaining efficiency. I felt that they were a good match for one another, and the defenders had a genuine safety pin in front of them while they worked. So once more, I applaud them

Moore went on to say that the tactically crucial balance that duo provides has allowed him to use more attack-oriented players, such as Sorba Thomas, Josh Koroma, and Delano Burgzorg as a trio up front.

According to the manager, “it really allows us to have those front three, [which is important] from the offensive side, in terms of offering something going the other way.”

We are aware that the three players we have up top pose a serious threat because they are real players. Maintaining their fitness will help them become stronger by fostering greater understanding, increased gameplay, and combination plays.
