Hull FC make four changes to squad as Simon Grix forced into reshuffle

Danny Houghton returns to Hull FC’s 21-man squad for Sunday’s trip to Salford Red Devils. The veteran hooker has missed the last two games through injury, but is now back in contention to play.

Houghton is one of four changes to Simon Grix’s squad, with Jack Walker also brought back in. Matty Laidlaw is also named, with academy back-rower Will Kirby called up for the first time.

They replace Jed Cartwright, who has a foot injury, plus Jack Ashworth and Cam Scott, who are out with ankle and hamstring issues. Davy Litten also makes way.

Elsewhere, Morgan Smith and Denive Balmforth keep their places. Smith has started the last two games, while Balmforth, who signed a new one-year deal last week, holds his spot after impressing in recent weeks.

Carlos Tuimavave is set for his third game back from injury, while Herman Ese’ese is included after his recent Super League Player of the Month nomination. Youngsters Will Gardiner, Lewis Martin, Zach Jebson, and Logan Moy hold their places, while Tiaki Chan is also included after playing for France against England last weekend.
