€15 Million Rated Leicester City Defender Set For Permanent Exit

Leicester City defender Victor Kristiansen is the subject of transfer talks between the Foxes and his loan side Bologna ahead of a potential permanent move from England in the coming months, according to the Sport Witness.

The 20-year-old completed a €14 million move to Leicester City in January but following the club’s relegation, Kristiansen was one of several departures from the club, in a list that included both Harvey Barnes and James Maddison.

Towards the end of the summer transfer window, Kristiansen completed a loan move to Italian side Bologna on a loan deal, with the option to make the move permanent for €15 million.

However, the Italian side is reportedly keen to speak to the Foxes about potentially lowering the €15 million fee in order for the club to sign the player on a permanent contract during the January transfer window.

Since arriving on loan in the summer, Kristiansen has made five appearances for the club, providing one assist which arrived during a Serie A clash against Cagliari during the defender’s debut.

The Foxes have experienced a very strong start to life back in the Championship as they sit top of the table after the opening 11 matches. Leicester City travel to Swansea City at the weekend, hoping to make it 11 wins from their opening 12 matches as they sit two points above Ipswich Town at the top of the table.

Bologna are reportedly trying to tie Kristiansen down to a permanent move before Leicester City clinchs promotion back to the Premier League. This is because they feel that the Foxes will price the Italian side out of any move and leave them behind.

Leicester City are likely to be aiming to keep ahold of Kristiansen should the club clinch promotion back to the Premier League and understandably that will leave Bologna without his services beyond the current campaign.

However, if they have a change of heart or the player expresses a desire to leave, it would leave the Championship side in a position where they would have to sell before things got too complicated.
