Rangers want a Dutch manager to take Beale’s job.

Although Michael Beale’s dismissal from Rangers may not be on the immediate agenda,  is reportedly being considered as a possible replacement.

The Gers are in Scottish League Cup action tonight, hosting Livingston at Ibrox with a spot in the semi-finals up for grabs.

Michael Beale definitely needs to win this game since the Scottish League Cup presents a fantastic opportunity to win a trophy, especially with Celtic already eliminated.

In Sunday’s victory over Motherwell, Rangers failed to wow the crowd, drawing jeers from those who had high expectations.

Beale is currently under a lot of pressure, so reports that Rangers are considering other managers won’t exactly make him feel better.

Pascal Jansen the latest manager linked with Rangers

We have already seen a few rumours about potential managerial appointments at Ibrox.

Earlier in September, The Daily Mail stated that John Eustace, the manager of Birmingham City, was a potential replacement for Beale.

The Sun also stated that Graham Potter turned down a proposal from Rangers in order to wait for the best possible opportunity.

However, a new name has entered the scene. According to TEAMtalk, Pascal Jansen, the manager of AZ Alkmaar, is a target for Rangers.

Rangers reportedly took notice of Jansen’s work at AZ, but Everton and Crystal Palace are also reportedly interested in signing him.

Jansen currently has AZ in second place in the Eredivisie table and could be a top Rangers target if Beale can’t turn it around.

Celtic wanted Jansen this summer

London-born Jansen isn’t a huge name but he has impressed with AZ since taking over from now-Feyenoord boss Arne Slot.

Jansen guided AZ to the semi-finals of the Europa Conference League last season, only to lose out to eventual winners West Ham United.

What’s interesting is that this alleged interest from Rangers comes just months after he was targeted by bitter rivals Celtic.

Ange Postecoglou joined Tottenham Hotspur in June, and 90Min stated that Celtic were considering Jansen as a potential replacement.

Brendan Rodgers ultimately won Celtic, but Jansen could still make it to Glasgow.

Jansen may potentially assist in bringing the Scottish Premiership back to Ibrox and defeat Celtic in the process.

That would be a significant turn of events, and while Beale still has time to make things right, he needs to move quickly lest those connections to Jansen and other managers merely get stronger.
