Sheffield United tipped by pundit to sign the best goalkeeper

Viktor Johansson, the custodian for Rotherham United, has lately been linked to Sheffield United and Leeds United.

Following Rotherham’s relegation to League One, the Swedish custodian is unlikely to stay with the team into the summer, according to Millers manager Steve Evans.

Johansson’s contract is rumoured to contain a seven-figure relegation release clause due to their relegation to the third division of English football; this is the reason for the rumours connecting him to Stoke City, the Blades, and the Whites.

Carlton Palmer discussed his opinions over Johansson’s possible summer transfer to Elland Road with FLW.

“After such an incredible season, I find it hard to think that Johansson would be content to be Meslier’s backup in that Leeds squad. Another team that might be there is Sheffield United, Palmer said.

“They have rotated their goalkeeping lineup this season, and since relegation is already official, they may do it once more. I have no doubt that he will be a championship custodian wherever he plays next season.

In a way, Sheffield United faces a summertime dilemma with their goalkeeping. At the end of the season, Wes Foderingham, Adam Davies, and Jordan Amissah are reportedly out of contract. Ivo Grbic, a recent addition to the team, has drawn criticism for a few lacklustre performances in his nine Premier League outings.

Johansson might end up being Chris Wilder’s top pick after the summer.
