In the West Midlands, more than 230,000 homes and companies will soon have full fibre access.
More towns and villages in the area will soon have access to full fibre broadband thanks to Openreach.
An additional thirty-six towns and villages will have access to Openreach’s massive ongoing broadband project.
The Black Country towns of Blackheath, Cradley Heath, Halesowen, Lye, Smethwick, and Stourbridge will receive the upgraded technology.
Albrighton, Cuckoo Oak, Donnington, Harlescott, Quatt, Shawbury, and Shifnal will acquire advantages in Shropshire.
Whittington and Fazeley in Staffordshire and Hagley, Hartlebury and Rock in Worcestershire are also on the list for improvements to their service.
Thanks to Openreach’s efforts, they now join the more than 1.25 million homes and companies in the area that have broadband connectivity.
The company has released updated plans to construct full fibre broadband to a record 517 additional locations throughout the UK, reaching an additional 2.7 million homes and businesses.
“This is a huge infrastructure success story across the Midlands,” stated Kasam Hussain, regional director for the Midlands. To our knowledge, no company is expanding or growing in Europe more quickly.
“Neither will we be stopping. We intend to continue building throughout the area, reaching our most rural communities as well as other cities and towns.
“And even though this is an extremely difficult engineering project, our engineers—more than 3,500 of them are local—are working on it quickly.
