The young player had spent time with the Caernarfon Town Academy before joini
ng Dan McNamara’s team.
Denham, a Wales youth international, came off the bench against Oxford United in preseason and scored with her first touch in adult football, a beautiful curling attempt into the goal from the edge of the penalty area.
Recently, 16-year-old Denham traveled to Portugal to compete in a UEFA under-17 friendly development event as a member of her nation. Denham started and scored against the Danes in the tournament, which also featured Portugal, Italy, and Denmark. He also came on as a substitute in the match against Italy.
Recruiting the offensive midfielder, a young and promising potential, manager McNamara said: “Ania was recommended to me by a dear friend of mine, Pete Wilson, who had her at North Wales Academy. He claimed that she had indicated interest in visiting to take a look around, and because I was aware that a few clubs were interested in her, we brought her in.
You can tell right away how much potential she has. For a 16-year-old, she has tremendous talent, and we were thrilled when she arrived.
I am aware that she has been eager to join the Wolves and begin
her career. She originally joined the under-21 team, but three weeks into preseason I had to decide to add her to the first-team roster due to the significant influence she had on training and the opening few friendlies.
Everyone could see that she has a wonderful talent and an eye for goal. The fact that she is a pleasure to deal with and that her parents raised her well is the finest thing for me.
We have to limit expectations because she is only 16 and there is a lot of work to be done both on and off the field, but we are eager to support her as she moves forward in her career.
