Worcestershire kids to be coached by former Worcester Warriors star

World-renowned rugby training programs Rugbytots and RugbyKids have recruit former international player, James Johnston, a former tighthead prop for Premiership clubs Saracens, Harlequins, Wasps and Warriors, to their coaching team.

Johnston, who represented Samoa in the Rugby World Cup, is known for his impressive career in top-tier competitions and his mastery in the scrum

After performing for a spell in France at Brive, Rouen, and Nice, Johnston began working with kids.

The Premiership champion is now a part of a group in Worcestershire that imparts their wealth of expertise to young athletes.The top rugby play program in the UK for kids ages 1.5 to 7 is called Rugbytots, and it emphasizes inclusivity, enjoyment, and skill development in a secure setting.

In order to make rugby more accessible for kids from all circumstances, RugbyKids is the first rugby-specific school program for key stage two kids, ages seven to eleven. It offers non-contact rugby PE sessions and after-school activities.

“We are delighted to welcome James Johnston to the team,” stated Eliot Langfield, head coach of Rugbytots and RugbyKids Worcestershire.

“His vast experience and passion for our wonderful game will undoubtedly inspire the next generation of athletes in our community.”

As a coach, Johnston will lead non-contact rugby sessions for kids ages 1.5 to seven, exposing them to the fundamentals of the game in a lighthearted and encouraging environment.

Johnston will not only coach but also introduce the sport to daycare centers, preschools, and elementary schools. He will also organize after-school programs for pupils in reception through sixth grade and teach physical education classes.

Johnston expressed his excitement at joining Rugbytots and getting to share his passion for rugby with Worcestershire’s young people.


“Rugby has been a central part of my life, and I am eager to inspire the next generation of players, instilling in them not only a passion for the game but also important values like teamwork and respect, while having a lot of fun in the process.”

Rugbytots and RugbyKids are websites for families, daycare centers, and schools interested in coaching sessions with Johnston and other qualified coaches.
