Everton in hunt to sign Can striker

Florian Plettenberg claims that Everton is vying with Nuremberg for the signature of Can Uzun, their attacking midfielder.

A number of teams, including Benfica, Galatasaray, Fenerbahce, and Besiktas, are interested in signing the adolescent star, and one club has “already submitted an official offer,” according to the Sky Sports writer who reported on X on October 10.

Vincenzo Montella is evaluating the 17-year-old Turkish attacker, who is regarded as a “top talent,” for the A-national team as they get ready for the 2024 European Championship. Along with Arda Güler and Kenan Yildiz, he belongs to the nation’s golden generation, and Montella wants to give them as much recognition as possible.

The season has begun badly for the Toffees once more. Uzun seems to be one of the main goals for American investment firm 777 Partners, which recently acquired Everton. Sean Dyche needs their assistance desperately to add quality players to the team in January.

He was called up to the senior team after making a big impression for Nuremberg’s academy, and he has since had a huge influence. Having made ten games, he has already recorded seven goals and two assists, making him the youngest player in club history to score.

His rapid development has caught the attention of several clubs, who are now fighting for his signature. While it will be best for him to remain in Nuremberg and grow gradually, leaving Germany is not totally out of the question.
