As Wakefield Trinity lost to St Helens, Dale Powell claimed he gave his team a “aggressive” halftime exhortation.
After falling behind 20-0 at the break, Wakefield rallied with three tries to win the second half.
Powell remarked, “I’m disappointed to lose; I don’t think we handled the first half well.”
“I think my delivery at halftime was the most aggressive I’ve been in a long time.
“I felt we were a little bit unlucky in the end, but it was a really good battle in the second half.”
“(Mathieu) Cozza was excellent after coming off the bench. We discovered a style of play that produced issues for St Helens.

There are some important lessons for some players nowadays. In the second half, we were a lot stronger team, and I was quite pleased with the players.
We started playing with a little more freedom because we needed a little more ruck speed.
“They did some really clever things and had a good lead over us, but in rugby league, you have to keep trying; nothing is hopeless.”
