
In Halifax, a man lost his life after falling from a flypast.
A man was reported to have fallen from the Burdock Way overpass in Halifax earlier today, prompting West Yorkshire Police to respond to the scene at 11.35 a.m. A man in his 40s was discovered by the emergency services as they raced to the hospital.
He had fallen from the flyover onto the road below at Old Lane. Despite the efforts of paramedics, he was confirmed as dead at the scene.
A road closure has been in put in place as the police remain on the scene. This includes the Orange Street roundabout.
An investigation is underway but the man’s death is not though to be suspicious.
West Yorkshire Police said: “Police were called to Halifax town centre at 11.35am today to a report a man had fallen from the Burdock Way flyover.
“Emergency services attended and located a man in his 40’s who had fallen from the flyover onto the road below at Old Lane. He was provided with medical attention but was sadly confirmed to have died at the scene.
“Police remain on scene and road closures have been in place in the area affected including at the Orange Street roundabout
“Enquiries remain ongoing by Calderdale District CID but at this time there are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances in what took place.”
