Days after Lewis Travis, the captain of Blackburn Rovers, was linked to a move to Derby County, promoted clubs Birmingham City and Wrexham have entered the battle to sign him.

The midfielder’s contract at Ewood Park is about to expire, but Rovers haven’t been able to come to an agreement on a new one thus far.

With Ben Osborn, Kenzo Goudmijn, and Ebou Adams as their present alternatives, Derby will want to strengthen the centre of midfield during their anticipated busy summer. A new contract has also been given to Liam Thompson.

Rovers’ supporters have become more and more disenchanted with life under its owners, the Venkys, so this is not the only possible setback they face.

Nixon claims that right-back Callum Brittain, who is in the last year of his contract and has been capped at the England under-20 level, is also demanding more money.
