St Johnstone’s deadline day signing, Ruari Paton, WILL be able to make his debut on Saturday.
The striker arrived on loan from Port Vale after the first scheduled date for Saints’ KDM Evolution Trophy clash with Ayr United.
Had this been a Scottish Cup tie, Paton wouldn’t have been eligible for the postponed fixture.
That rule has been in the news after Stranraer were kicked out of this year’s competition and denied the chance to face Rangers in the last-16.

Their goalkeeper, Lyndon Tas, was signed on loan from Hearts on the day of a rearranged game as opposed to the original date.
However, there is no such impediment in the Challenge Cup, allowing Simo Valakari the opportunity to get Paton involved in his match-day squad this weekend.
Fellow January signing, Josh Fowler, won’t feature, though.
The former Queen’s Park striker is cup-tied.
