Before the summer transfer window closes, Sheffield United will send Nigerian striker Ehije Ukaki on loan in an effort to provide the young player with crucial first team experience.
Ukaki signed a three-year contract that would extend until the end of the 2027–2028 season when he joined The Blades from Botev Plovdiv last summer.
Despite showing plenty of promise, the young attacker has struggled to break into Sheffield United’s first team and is yet to make his full Championship debut.
In search of game time, he spent the second half of last season on loan at Greek club Atromitos F.C., where he made 16 appearances in the Super League.
Italian-based Nigerian agent Ben Itorho, who represents Ukaki, confirmed that Sheffield United believe Ukaki would benefit from another spell away from the club, adding that the forward is attracting interest from several European and Middle East clubs.
Providing an update on the future of Ukaki, Itorho told allnigeriasoccer.com: “He will definitely go on loan because Sheffield have made it clear that he still needs to go out and develop,” Italian-based Nigerian agent Ben Itorho, who looks after Ehije Ukaki.
“There is a club in the second league in Qatar that wants to return to the Qatar Stars League and wants him, but just for one season on loan, and he can return to Europe since he still has a contract with Sheffield United.
“Belgium, the Netherlands, Turkey and a club playing in Europe in Azerbaijan are actively asking for him now.”
Ukaki trained with Sheffield United’s development squad during pre-season preparations, featuring in friendly matches against Wrexham U21s and Hallam FC.
