Atletico Madrid have called on Antoine Griezmann more and more as the season has gone on, but have been given a firm reminder that they must prepare for life without him. The French legend is reportedly in advanced talks to leave the club, most likely in the summer.

Griezmann is definitely nearing the end of his playing days at the Metropolitano, and last summer there were rumours that he may depart. He did, however, sign a two-year contract deal that would theoretically bind him to Atletico Madrid through 2027. He has always stated that he wants to complete his career in the United States, but it’s more a matter of when than when.

Griezmann and Orlando City are reportedly in early negotiations regarding a transfer, according to The Athletic. They are among the four MLS teams interested in signing him, but Orlando has the upper hand since they control his “discovery rights.” Although the 34-year-old’s camp says he is unlikely to go until the end of the European season, they are eager to get him before the MLS transfer window closes on March 26.

Negotiations between Atletico and Orlando have not yet taken place, and no agreement has been reached. However, in any discussions, Los Colchoneros are anticipated to consider Griezmann’s demands.

Griezmann: An attribute that never appears to age
With 12 goals and two assists in his 35 games, Griezmann continues to demonstrate his value to Atletico despite the fact that his legs are not as strong as they once were. He averages a goal contribution every 111 minutes. When questioned about their record goalscorer, Diego Simeone never fails to compliment him. His confidence is clear as he started Griezmann in their Copa del Rey semi-final matchup with Barcelona, where he led them to a 4-0 victory in the first leg.
