After leaving Doncaster Rovers, the defender chose to join Stockport County, and it is now known who his next club will be.
After first arriving on a trial basis under then-manager Richie Wellens, the well-liked center-half played for South Yorkshire for four seasons. He would go on to establish himself as a regular during that period, and he played his best in his last season, helping Rovers win the League Two championship.

Olowu took his time choosing where to take his career after turning down a contract offer throughout the season. On Wednesday evening, it was revealed that he is now going to Edgeley Park. However, a recent admission from his new management raises the possibility that the change could have been made earlier this year.
The Hatters’ manager, Dave Challinor, stated: “I’m thrilled that Joseph has agreed to join us after being promoted to this division with Doncaster the previous season. He had a fantastic season and had loved his time there, so I know it was a tough decision for him.

We attempted to sign him in January, but Doncaster naturally wanted to keep him on board to help them reach their goal, which they did. We made a tremendous financial decision by signing him on a free transfer, and I believe we have a player who is in his prime but still has room to grow.”
Although it wasn’t made public at the time, the Free Press is aware that Stockport submitted at least one bid, which Rovers promptly rejected after refusing to consider.
Rovers are lacking in center-halves as a result of Olowu’s departure, captain Richard Wood’s retirement, and Tom Anderson’s choice to relocate to Shrewsbury. Although Matty Pearson’s recent arrival undoubtedly helps, manager Grant McCann still prioritises this area in the transfer market. An offer has been made to acquire a centre-back in the Premier League on a long-term basis.
