Joe Shorrocks, a loose forward for the Salford Red Devils, was given a one-game suspension for a challenge on Aidan Sezer, a half-back for Hull FC. Sezer criticised Shorrocks’ challenge during the incident, which occurred during the Red Devils’ 38–6 loss to Hull on Sunday afternoon.
The RFL’s Match Review Panel has now given Shorrocks a Grade A late contact on kicker charge. As a result, he will miss this Sunday’s match at St Helens, which is the third meeting between the two teams this season, and will be suspended for one game. In addition to being fined, he now has 11 penalty points on his record.

Two more suspensions have been imposed elsewhere. Alec Tuitavake, a forward for Leigh Leopards, will miss Friday’s crucial match against Leeds Rhinos after receiving a one-game suspension for a Grade B late hit on the passer. He was suspended for one game because he received three penalty points, bringing his total to six.
In addition, Chris Satae received a Grade C Dangerous Contact charge and a one-game ban. The Catalans Dragons prop, who now has six penalty points overall, will not play against the Huddersfield Giants on Saturday.
Additionally, two players received fines. Jordan Crowther of Warrington Wolves for a Grade A late contact on kicker charge, and Tevita Pangai-Junior of Catalans for a Grade C head contact that also carries five penalty points, putting him one point away from a one-match suspension. One penalty point has been awarded to him.
