Despite his strong season-long play, Featherstone Rovers have confirmed the discharge of an outside back.
Jayden Hatton’s contract, which was supposed to last until the end of the year, was shortened. He only joined the Rovers at the beginning of the 2025 season.

After spending three seasons with the Swinton Lions, where he scored 27 tries in 62 games, the centre, who can also play on the wing, joined Featherstone.

Featherstone Rovers
Featherstone Rovers have confirmed the release of an outside back, despite him showing good form throughout the season.
Jayden Hatton, who only joined the Rovers at the start of the 2025 season, had a contract that ran through to the end of the year, but it has been cut short.
The centre, who can also play on the wing, joined Featherstone from Swinton Lions, where he spent three seasons and scored 27 tries in 62 appearances.

His try-scoring ability carried over to West Yorkshire, where he scored seven tries in 12 appearances for Paul Cooke’s side. However, the Widnes Vikings academy product has not played since Round 10.
The club confirmed in a statement on X, formerly Twitter, that the 25-year-old would leave Post Office Road with immediate effect.
Featherstone Rovers confirm centre release
The statement read: “Featherstone Rovers can confirm that Jayden Hatton has been released from his contract to pursue opportunities closer to his north west home.”
“We thank Jayden for his time and the commitment he has shown whilst at the Club. We wish him well for the future.”
Rovers do have options in the centre department. James Glover, who signed mid-season from Sheffield Eagles, and Josh Hardcastle have been the starting three-quarters in the last three matches.
They will be competing with the experienced Carlos Tuimavave for a starting spot once he returns from injury. The former Hull FC man signed for the club when his contract expired last season.
On Friday night, Featherstone will travel to Hunslet in an attempt to secure their fourth victory in five games. The rematch went very down to the wire, with the flat cappers just winning 26–24. Their opponents had only triumphed once since May.
After splitting from Dean Muir prior to last week’s match against Bradford, Hunslet is still without a head coach.
