With a 2-1 victory over a Huddersfield team that finished with 10 men, Stockport guaranteed their spot in the League One playoffs.

Josh Koroma gave the visitors the lead, but Fraser Horsfall tied the score for County, who won the match late on thanks to a penalty kick from Ollie Norwood.

Huddersfield opened the scoring just after the hour mark as Koroma was afforded ample space to pick his spot and fire past a sprawling Corey Addai.

The hosts did not back down though, as captain Horsfall headed home the leveller from Norwood’s corner just over 10 minutes later to get his side back into the game.

County were then given a golden chance to win with just minutes left as Benony Andresson was hauled down in the area by Matty Pearson and a penalty was awarded. Norwood stepped up and sent Addai the wrong way to seal the win.

Things went from bad to worse for Huddersfield in added time as substitute Callum Marshall was sent off for a high tackle on Horsfall.
