Cameron Bate, a young Bulls prospect, has been picked up to the Lancashire squad for the 2025 Academy Origin Series, so the good news continues flowing.

After turning down a Super League team’s offer to stay with the team, the Widnes native signed a first team contract with the Bulls after an outstanding start to the reserves and academy season.

Bate, who joined the Bulls after rising through the ranks at Wigan Warriors, has already scored four tries this season, including a double in the victory over the Salford Red Devils last week.

The first fixture of the Origin series takes place at Castleford’s Mend-A-Hose Jungle on Saturday, May 10, with the second and final fixture being played at Hull KR’s Sewell Group Craven Park on Saturday, August 2.

There will be live coverage of the first Academy Origin fixture on the RFL’s YouTube channel on May 10, with kick off at midday.

One Bulls prospect has already seen representative action this spring.

Will Barber, a member of Bradford’s scholarship program, was called up to play for Scotland’s Under-16 team on Easter Monday against a travelling Limoux XIII team.

The match, which was played at Thatto Heath Crusaders, ended in an exciting tie of 16–16.
