Celtic look set to sign Morton youngster Isaac English. The Scottish Champions have spied the Cappielow talent as a possible development recruit.

According to Sun Sport, Celtic are close to agreeing a £50k fee for the player, which would see the player join Celtic’s Academy.

The Tonne Under-18 team, who won the Club Academy Scotland Performance League, included English. Although the defender has not yet made an appearance for Dougie Imrie’s first team, the manager has allowed the player to train with the senior team.

Surprisingly, according to the article, this would be the first transfer from Morton for which they have been paid since they sent Michael Tidser to Rotherham in 2013.

With Kieran Tierney returning on a five-year contract, Celtic has been active in the summer window. Additionally, the Scottish Champions are anticipated to finalise agreements with Callum Osmond, Ross Doohan, and Benjamin Nygren. Given that the UEFA Champions League Playoff begins in August, Brendan is eager to finish his business as soon as possible. Many periphery players who will be returning from loan clubs this summer are eager to join the team.
