On loan from Cardiff City, NEWPORT County AFC signed “energetic” forward Michael Reindorf, expanding their attacking options.
The Exiles have reached an agreement with the Bluebirds to make the 20-year-old their fifth summer acquisition, and he will spend the 2025–2026 season at Rodney Parade.
Reindorf featured four times for Cardiff in the first half of last season, twice in the Carabao Cup and twice in the Championship, and was linked with a move to County in January.
He instead made the switch to League One Bristol Rovers but made just four appearances as the Gas suffered relegation.
Reindorf will now hope to get a sustained taste of EFL action with County where he will join Courtney Baker-Richardson and Ged Garner as an option up top for new boss David Hughes.
“He’s a really good addition to what we already have,” said the manager. “He has great energy, and a great ability to threaten space in behind.
“I’d also like to thank Cardiff City for trusting us to work with their young player and to help him develop, whilst understanding our responsibility to ensure that we deliver a successful team on a consistent basis.”
Reindorf came through West Ham’s academy and was then a part of the youth set-up at Leyton Orient.
The Londoner earned a first senior contract with Norwich in 2023 and had a loan spell at Kettering before moving to Cardiff last year.
Reindorf has performed strongly for the Bluebirds’ Under-21s but will now aim to shine in men’s football.
When County plays Pontypridd United on Tuesday at USW Sports Park (kick-off 7.30pm), where they have been practicing in preparation for the season, he might receive his first opportunity to make an impression.
Since goalie Nik Tsanev, defender Lee Jenkins, midfielder Matt Smith, and striker Garner left, the Exiles have added five new players under Reindorf.
